Garden Design

As a Landscape Architect, with over 40 year’s experience, I specialise in creating gardens that sit in harmony with their surrounding buildings and landscape. I take pride in listening and bringing my client’s ideas to life for their garden projects. If required I can provide assistance with planning applications as well. I have developed a good relationship with many clients over the years and created designs for them, which have allowed them to re-imagine their garden into a space that is perfect for them.

The Design Process

  • I visit you to discuss your garden design project with you.
  • This allows me to see your site first hand and discuss your ideas so that we can develop a design brief.
  • I charge a fee for this first visit, as this often includes providing initial advice.
  • Following this meeting I will provide you with a written summary of the design work and a fee proposal.
  • Once the fee is agreed I usually require a measured survey of your site. I can arrange for a survey to be carried out for an additional fee, if necessary.
  • I can advise on the condition of any existing trees and vegetation, incorporating them into the design if required.
  • I will have a further meeting with you to explore your ideas before we start preparing our design.
  • I will submit our design proposal to you for your comment and feedback and make any adjustments.
  • I can take care of planning (and building regulation) approval, if required.
  • I can also provide advice on hard landscape details and prepare soft landscape designs. If required, documentation can be produced to allow for construction quotations.
  • I will advise on letting of a contract for the works and supervise the construction work.
  • I can provide follow up advice on the ongoing maintenance of the garden.
